I also tried these tutorials (in spanish) which, from what I understood, is just changing the permits so that your user is able to modify files. I have downloaded Avast, however I've heard that it's not good to have two antivirus installed. It sucks because I have no protection and to be able to download the new version I have to get rid of the old one. I downloaded iObit unistaller and it seemed succesful but the icon in the desktop still appears and in my program files, the Symantec folder is still there and I can't erase it. It says it's non-compatible and I can't even open the program's control panel and as the title says, I can't uninstall it! Since I updated to Windows 10, my old antivirus Symantec Endpoint Protection is no longer working.
